Improper use of reduplications of verbs

　　Example:

　　Wrong：我到这儿已经两个月了，生活上还不习惯，我想想我的爸爸、妈妈。

　　Right：我到这儿已经两个月了，生活上还不习惯，我想我的爸爸、妈妈。

　　The reduplicative form of “想”—“想想”implies a temporary state. But the emotion of missing one's parents lasts a period of time. Thus it is wrong to reduplicate the verb. A single “想”is just right.

　　Example:

　　Wrong：我送送你一下儿。

　　Right：我送送你。

　　Right：我送你一下儿。

　　“送送”and “一下儿”carry the same implication of being temporary. Their co-existence results in repetition. A choice has to be made between them.

　　Example:

　　Wrong：他知道那件事，可以给我们讲了讲。

　　Right：他知道那件事，可以给我们讲讲。

　　Right：他知道那件事，给我们讲了讲。

　　“可以”expresses possibility,and “了”indicates that an action has been already completed. The two words are in conflict. One inhibits the presence of the other.

　　Example:

　　Wrong：我送送你们出去吧。

　　Right：我送你们出去吧。

　　This is a sentence with verbal construction in a series which normally allows no duplication of the first verb. Moreover, the second verb “出”does not have a reduplicative from since it shows the direction of an action. The predicate section of the sentence can only be “送你们出去”.
